Back to Spring and Winter Break Trips
     Spring Break 2006
Destination: Taos, New Mexico, USA
With views of both tall mountains and deep gorges, it is a small wonder why anyone would live in the Taos area. Add ski resorts, and this not only attracts people, but also raises property values. As a result of this, many Taos natives are unable to remiain in the area. As of 2006 Taos Habitat for Humanity has built ten homes to combat this problem.

Although Taos is in New Mexico, it is also in the mountains. At around 8000 feet in elevation, we received about six inches of snow during our stay. If you expect temperatures between 20-60 F, you probably won't be dissapointed.

We spent the week clearing futniture out of a hotel that will soon be demolished; the furniture will be sold at the local Habitat ReStore. We also helped to build the forms and pour the concrete for a house with a high school group from New York.
