We had the opportunity to volunteer at three different worksites in New Orleans. We dug and laid out the foundations for the Musician's Village, an 81-home project in the Upper Ninth Ward to bring back displaced musicians. At another smaller project on Mandeville Ave in the Upper Ninth Ward, we worked on siding and other tasks on a house in the late stages of completion. At the Oschner Warehouse, we efficiently cleared out the warehouse floor so Habitat can start utilizing the recently donated space to house supplies for future projects. The HFH- Nola affiliate has plans to reach 500 houses built per year to assist those displaced by Katrina.
